Hi! I'm Heather Fisher, the Dietitian and Program Coordinator.
I can help you to understand what foods affect your diabetes and
how to use diet to help control your diabetes. I can provide you
with a meal plan or help you to identify what changes to your
diet might be helpful and suit your lifestyle. I am a Registered
Dietitian and a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario. I
have worked in inpatient and outpatient care at The Scarborough
Hospital and in 2005 I had the opportunity to return to Parry
Sound to join Diabetes Education Centre. I look forward to
meeting you!
Hi! I'm Amanda Hill, the Diabetes Nurse Educator. I can help you
understand diabetes, and help you manage your diabetes. We can
discuss other health issues as they relate to diabetes. Our
office is client centered and focused on supporting
self-management. I will provide ongoing education, care and
support to you and your family as necessary. I have been a
Registered Nurse for 24 years. I joined the Diabetes Education
Centre on January 2/08. Prior to that, I worked at the West Parry
Sound Health Centre in a variety of roles and settings.
I look forward to meeting you!

Hi! I am Michelle Pletzer the Administrative Assistant. I have
been with the Diabetes Education Centre since 2004. Before this
time I worked in various Toronto teaching hospitals. I am the
first to welcome you upon your arrival at the office. I will ask
to see your health card and fill out the standard office
authorization form before you see the Registered Nurse and/or
Registered Dietitian. I am in the office on Mondays, Thursdays
and Friday mornings. Please remember to bring your health card to
your appointment. On your subsequent visits to the office I will
be downloading your glucometer and making a copy of your logbook
readings. For this reason it is helpful that you remember to
bring these things with you to every visit.
Please feel free to call me at any time if you have any questions
or concerns, as I am happy to help in any way I can.
I look forward to meeting you!
