There are many different learning opportunities available for you.

1. Individual appointments:
It is recommended that all people with diabetes have an assessment with a Registered Nurse and Registered Dietitian. This usually occurs over 1-2 visits. At these appointments the Diabetes Education team will help you to identify and begin to implement your self management goals. A follow up visit will likely be arranged for you at this time.

2. Group Sessions:
We conduct group education sessions every week. Many of our clients say how much they enjoy learning in this fun, interactive setting. Please contact our office to arrange to attend one of our group sessions. It is not necessary to have been seen previously. You are encouraged to bring along a family member or significant other.

3. Drop in:
You do not need to be a registered client to attend the drop in. During the drop in the Registered Nurse and Registered Dietitian are available on a first come, first serve basis to discuss any of your diabetes related questions or concerns. These appointments usually last 10-15 mins. If you require a more in depth assessment or review a follow up visit can be arranged at that time.

Occasionally, we may need to cancel the drop in.  So for your convenience, any cancellations will be advertised on the Moose FM 103.3.

4. Community Workshops:
We regularly give workshops in the greater Parry Sound area. Please check under Calendar of Events to determine when the next workshop is scheduled. If you would like to arrange for a presentation for your community group, please contact our office at 705-746-5461.

5. Telehealth:
Once a month we see clients at surrounding nursing stations using the telehealth equipment. To schedule an appointment with the Diabetes Education team please contact your local Nursing Station.
